This date can start off with the most wholesome of intentions, but try combining ice cream, cordial, whipping cream and two bodies full of sweet desire, and you fi gure it out. We don't even want to speculate what you'll end up doing with your little red cherry.
For those of you on the wagon, or if you can't get past the idea of hot fudge and caramel, don't hesitate to heap on rich hot fudge or luscious, creamy caramel (or both) instead of the cordial.
To start with, you'll need to buy different types of ice cream and several types of cordial, or if you are the adventurous type, you can make your own ice cream and cordial as described elsewhere in this book. Cordial is anything alcoholic and sweet—creme de cocoa, creme de menthe, kahlua, Cointreau....
Please keep in mind that once you put cordial on ice cream, even the fi nest of tastebuds will be hard-pressed to know whether you bought cheap, off-brand liqueur or the real stuff. We're talking the difference between $3.98 versus up to $14.95 for the smaller sizes, and $5.98 versus $34.95 for the big canisters.
Most importantly, don't forget to buy a can or two of whipping cream, and if your date lost his or her cherry on the way, you can always buy a jar of those as well.
Put a small scoop of ice cream in each dish and cover it liberally with cordial. Repeat this process with each fl avor of ice cream and each cordial. Top off each delicious mound with whipping cream and a little red cherry. (In case your people come from Mars, they also make sweet green cherries instead of red ones that you can get at many stores.)
If you are still standing after fi nishing the sundaes, consider taking the remaining whipping cream, cordial, cherries and your date into the bedroom. For suggestions beyond that, please consult our companion book, the Guide To Getting It On!
Check out the following internet sites for dishes that you and your date can make using various cordials and liqueurs. For instance, the Kahlua site lists 228 recipes you can make with Kahlua, and the Grand Marnier site includes recipes for pecan pie, orange salad, souffl e, chocolate mouse and crepes, all made with Grand Marnier liqueur. It even has a recipe for candy chestnut soup. On the other hand, it's possible your date has his or her own recipe for doing something special with your chestnuts.
