Hmmm. What about Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf? A nun and priest? A sheik and a harem girl? A doctor and nurse, or more to the point, a nurse and a patient? Do you have a story line or fantasy that you and your date would like to act out? Why wait for Halloween. There are some resources in this date that may have just what you need to dress up and live out your fantasy.
Rentals are from $20.00 to $100.00 each. There are a lot of costumes that you can purchase for not much more. If there's a particular fantasy or scenario that you'll want to do several times, why not purchase the costumes if you can?
You can rent costumes at local costume rental shops. Check the Yellow Pages. And don't discount second-hand stores as possible sources, although we've never seen a French maid's outfit with crotchless panties at our local Goodwill. Another source might be shops that specialize in uniforms.
Here are some websites to consider for costumes of all kinds.
Also, if the idea of doing a dress-up date sparks your fancy, but you haven't yet fancied the perfect costume, taking a tour through some of these websites that might do the trick:
Need a biblical costume? Or maybe you've simply got the urge to bite your date's neck and want to dress the part. For a full array of possibilities, check out www.anniescostumes.com.
Perhaps you would like your very own Sister Sara Deluxe Costume. Maybe your date would like a Cardinal Deluxe Costume including the cardinal gown, caplet, sash and hat. Of course, we wouldn't want to assume which sex will be wearing which costume, but isn't that one of the fun aspects of this date? Find all you need at www.clicket.com/costume. Here are some to consider: geisha and samurai, cop and convict, Viking couple, pirate and wench, Santa and Santa's little helper, a caveman and cavewoman or a phone repairman and a difficult but eventually satisfied customer.
For those of you with a more classical bent, you can also be Anthony and Cleopatra, or perhaps do a tragic, passion-filled evening of Romeo and Juliet where she eventually falls on his spear, or sits on it anyway.
Other known couples you could dress up as include Fred and Wilma, Scarlet and Rhett, Bonnie and Clyde, Superman and Lois, Roy and Dayle (or perhaps Roy and Trigger), Ricky and Lucy— have any ideas of your own?
