"Breast Cancer Husband" by Marc Silver As close as it gets to being "must reading" for any husband, spouse, boyfriend or significant other of a woman with breast cancer.

Everything Changes This is Kairol Rosenthal's site for people in their 20s and 30s who have had cancer. It includes both her blog and links to her book.

Testicular Cancer--The Mother of All Sites Anything and everything you'll need to know about testicular cancer can be found on this incredible site, The Testicual Cancer Resource Center.

Testicular Cancer: TC-Cancer.com A very thorough site for the education and support or patients with testicular cancer and their family members. Includes support forums.

Testicular Cancer: CheckemLads.com This very interesting and untypical website is what happens when two British guys get cancer of the bullocks. Mick and Phil's personal stories are well worth the read, especially for Americans who are used to the usual great-white-doctor tone.

Testicular Cancer: How To Do A Testicular Exam It's interesting how a girlfriend or wife is often the first to discover cancer of the testicles. Hopefully, both guys and their partners will take a few minutes to read through the steps involved in doing a monthly ball check.

Vaginal Health in Cancer Survivors A very helpful article from the Journal of Sexual Medicine. Provides a comprehensive overview of vaginal health issues caused by estrogen deprivation in female cancer patients/survivors and provide recommendations to identify, treat, and promote vaginal health.

"Women, Cancer, Sex" by Anne Katz, Ph.D. Here's Paul's review of this book:

For more than ten years I've been looking for an excellent book on sex for women who have cancer, and for ten years I've mostly drawn blanks. So it was with trepidation that I started to read Anne Katz' latest effort Women, Cancer, Sex.

Given all that I've read on the subject and how disappointed I've been, I was concerned that perhaps I'd lowered my standards and I felt a reality check was in order after I finished reading the book. So I quietly handed Women, Cancer, Sex to my wife. She's an attorney and will usually tell me within the first fifteen minutes "Really boring!" or "It should have been a 2-page article and not a book." So I was particularly pleased when she called me after finishing this 184-page book to say, "This is incredible! Best book you've had me read in a long, long time. I hope you will strongly recommend this to women AND to their partners."

The things we both liked about the Katz book is that it is interesting, it flows well and it presents a great deal of information without overwhelming you. You feel a part of what's going on and the author helps you understand the various issues and how to cope with them. The areas covered range from how you might talk to people about your cancer, to when you might tell a new partner about your situation. And good luck finding another resource that so clearly helps a sexual partner to understand the emotional scars that the various treatments can leave behind.

This book is invaluable for the general consumer and is the perfect book for healthcare providers as well. I can't strongly enough recommend that you keep it in an obvious place. Even if a patient never talks to you about sex, seeing the book in your office will give them permission to go home and order it from Amazon.

The only criticism that both my wife and I had about the book was the way the publisher did the "Dr. Katz Explains" text boxes. However, the book's many strengths more than overbalance this one annoyance. If books were to get grades, this one would earn an A or an A+, and I'm not an easy grader.
