2011 Update of the Guide To Getting It On

The 6th edition remains the most current edition. However, I make updates and revisions every year, and sometimes more often.

The following is a summary of the changes I have made for the 2011 update of the 6th edition which will be shipping in November. If you are a college instructor and you assign THE GUIDE in your classes, there is no need to make any changes in your syllabus. The pagination remains the same.

Also, we are colorizing the illustrations for an electronic version that we hope to have ready by early February. If you’d like to be on the notification list for when the eBook is available, please click here and let us know.

Chapter 3.) Kissing (pp. 23-30)

  • Revised instructions for using makeup to cover up a hickey on pages 27-28.

Chapter 11.) Sex Lubes--A New Look (pp. 137-144)

  • Made changes in references to olive oil, included the following addition on page 140: NOTE: If you are looking for a natural oil for a sex lube, our friends at ?A Woman's Touch recommend coconut oil. They have done a great deal of experimentation and find that coconut oil is made of a shorter molecule and absorbs nicely, where olive oil does not absorb into the walls of the vagina and can collect around the cervix. It can actually start to smell rancid.

Chapter 16.) The Prostate & The Male Pelvic Underground (pp. 203-217)

  • Added the following recommended reading on page 217: "Invasion of the Prostate Snatchers: No More Unnecessary Biopsies, Radical Treatment or Loss of Sexual Potency" by Mark Scholz and Ralph Blum, Other Press (2010).

Chapter 22.) Intercourse--Horizontal Jogging (pp. 281-308)

Chapter 24.) Playing with Yourself (pp. 327-344)

  • Re-edited some of the text on pp. 328-329 (Wanking Protocol-When You Have a Roommate)
  • Revised "face down" text on pp. 342-343.

Chapter 25.) Oscillator, Generator, Vibrator, Dildo (pp. 345-356)

Added the following paragraph under "Vibrators, Dildos and Couples" on page 349: Some men are particularly confused when their partner says she loves having intercourse with them, but prefers a dildo that's bigger than they are. The reason is because a woman totally controls the dildo play, so she can go with tighter specs. Sex with her partner is more athletic, and so she often prefers a penis that isn't as big as her dildo for actual lovemaking.

Chapter 26.) Fun with Your Foreskin (pp. 357-366)

  • Added new reader quote on page 366.

Chapter 28.) Bye-Bye V-Card--Losing Your Virginity (pp. 375-384)

Chapter 36.) Gender Benders (pp. 431-440.)

  • Substantial full chapter revisions. The chapter now better reflects input received from some of our transexual readers.

Chapter 44.) Techno Breasts and Weenie Angst (pp. 487-498)

  • Added the following on page 494: WARNING: If your healthcare provider happens to suggest you have labiaplasty, keep in mind that it might be more to improve his cash flow than to improve your crotch. There are now seminars for gynecologists on how much extra money they can make each year by trimming their patients' labia. So if your healthcare provider suggests you have labiaplasty, please get a second opinion.
